Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

This privacy policy relates to our management of personal information about borrowers and consumers, including your personal information collected in connection with a credit application or a credit facility.

Our commitment to protect your privacy

We understand how important it is to protect your personal information. This policy sets out how we collect and manage personal information we hold about you and what we do with it. Our commitment is to abide by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and any other applicable law.

What is personal information?

"Personal information" has the meaning given in the Privacy Act. In general terms, it's any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address, phone number, email address and occupation. If you are reasonably identifiable from information we collect, it is personal information.

How we collect your personal information

If you deal with us directly, we generally collect personal information directly from you, in person, on the phone or electronically, including through our website, online application tools and social media channels. We may also collect it:

  • from joint applicants, co-applicants, guarantors or proposed guarantors, or from the loan applicant if you are a guarantor;
  • from your employer, real estate agent or other referees;
  • from third parties such as social media platforms, marketing websites, related companies, credit reporting bodies, lenders, law enforcement and other government agencies, and identity verification providers;
  • from your representatives, such as solicitors, accountants, conveyancers, builders and agents; and
  • when legally required to do so.

We may collect credit reporting information and credit eligibility information about you from credit reporting bodies and credit providers if you expressly authorise us to do so in writing as part of our credit assistance.

  • Information about loans and finance products that relate to you, including transactions, audits, investigations, complaints and enquiries.
  • Information you provide through our website, online presence, contact centre or surveys.

Some information may be sensitive information, such as membership of trade or professional associations or unions, your criminal record or your health information.

  • To comply with any law, regulation or binding direction of a regulator or government authority.

If you don't provide personal information, we may not be able to provide our services to the same standard or at all, meet our obligations to lenders (so your application may not be processed), tell you about products or promotions, or tailor our website to your preferences.

Automated decision-making

We may use computer systems to help identify products that may suit your circumstances and eligibility. We, not the system, decide which products to recommend or make available to you.

Direct marketing

From time to time we may use your personal information to send you information about finance, offers, changes to our organisation, or products and services offered by us or associated companies. You can opt out at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in our emails. We won't charge you for this.

Cookies, analytics and advertising choices

Where we seek your choice for optional tracking, you can accept, reject or change it using the Cookie settings link on our website. Rejecting optional tracking will not prevent you using our essential website features.

If optional advertising tracking is enabled, information such as pages visited, browser and device details and interaction events may be shared with the technology provider. We do not intentionally send loan application information, income details or other financial information to advertising platforms.

Our website uses essential technologies to provide its functionality. We may also use optional analytics and advertising technologies, including services provided by Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to understand how our website is used and assess the effectiveness of campaigns.

Accessing and correcting your personal information

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you at any time. We'll aim to respond within 30 days. In some situations we aren't required to give access, for example where the information relates to legal proceedings, and we'll explain why if we refuse.

If information we hold is incorrect, inaccurate or out of date, you can ask us to correct it. We'll give an initial response within seven days and, where reasonable, tell you within 30 days whether we've corrected it. If we refuse, we'll explain why and, if you ask, note that you disagree.

Government identifiers

If we collect government identifiers such as your tax file number, we only use or disclose them as required by law, and we don't use them as our identifier for you.

Dealing with us without identifying yourself

Where lawful and practicable, you can make general enquiries, for example about interest rates or promotions, without giving us personal information.

Security

The internet is inherently insecure, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us online. We take reasonable steps to store your information securely, in paper and electronic form, and to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, please contact us, preferably in writing. We'll usually acknowledge your complaint within seven days and give you a decision within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy to reflect changes in the law or market practice. Changes apply to information we already hold and to information collected afterwards. Last updated: September 2026.
